Joseph brings over thirty years of experience in air balancing and nearly thirty years in sheet metal installation, establishing himself as a trusted leader in HVAC system optimization. His credentials include ASHRAE 110 Certification, NEBB Certified
Technician, NCI and NBC Air and Hydronic Balancing Certifications, and OSHA certification-a combination that reflects his deep technical expertise and commitment to excellence.
As NBC Supervisor, Joseph is known for solving complex HVAC challenges with innovative, data-driven approaches. From duct renovation and airflow measurement to system fine-tuning, his solutions enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Joseph's dedication to education and mentorship is evident in his years of teaching at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, where he guided future tradespeople and reinforced safety and collaboration as cornerstones of success.
With extensive blueprint reading, drafting, and project coordination skills, Joseph aligns technical execution with project goals, ensuring seamless results and satisfied clients.
An active ASHRAE TAB Committee Member, Joseph remains deeply engaged in advancing HVAC best practices. His ASHRAE 110 Certification enhances his ability to optimize and verify critical environment performance to meet the most stringent laboratory and cleanroom standards.

Joe B. - Lead Technician

Technical Expert. Client Partner. Field Leader.

With over nine years of air balancing experience and more than four years in sheet metal installation, Joe brings hands-on expertise and advanced training to every project he leads. Currently advancing through his sheet metal apprenticeship, he continues to expand his knowledge and refine his craft every day.
A graduate of Porter and Chester Institute, Joe holds a certification in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), providing him with a strong foundation in technical design, drafting, and blueprint interpretation. His skills in Revit, AutoCAD, and technical drawing ensure seamless collaboration from the design phase to final implementation.
Joe is deeply committed to professional growth and staying ahead in the industry. He holds a long list of respected certifications, including:

  • National Comfort Institute Certified Commercial Air Balancing Technician
  • National Balancing Council Supervisor
  • Passive House, NADCA, ASHRAE 110
  • Multiple certifications with RetroTech, UL, Mainstream Engineering, and EPA

Sam - Lead Technician

Versatile Technician. System Balancer. Reliable Problem Solver.

With over six years of experience in system balancing and a deep background in HVAC and sheet metal work, Sam delivers technical expertise and leadership to every project. As an NCI-certified balancing Technician, he specializes in fine-tuning system performance and ensuring optimal energy efficiency for every client.
Sam's hands-on experience includes more than four years in sheet metal fabrication, shop work, and installation, giving him a well-rounded skill set that bridges design, build, and performance. He holds a Massachusetts Sheet Metal Journeyman Restricted License and is currently pursuing his Master Journeyman Unrestricted License, demonstrating his ongoing dedication to mastering his craft.
Committed to staying ahead in the industry, Sam has earned various certifications, including NBC and multiple UL credentials. He is also actively working toward his North American Technical Excellence (NATE) Certification, further expanding his technical capabilities.
A Nashoba Valley Technical High School graduate, where he completed an intensive fouryear electrical trade program, Sam has always been dedicated to professional growth. This drive continues today, with over 150 hours of online learning and 200+ hours of inperson training under his belt. His eagerness to learn ensures that he brings innovative, up-to-date solutions to BTI's customers.
In addition to his technical talents, Sam brings leadership, efficiency, and a strong focus on safety to every job site. He is certified in OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and CPR, creating a secure and compliant environment wherever he works.
Sam is known for his collaborative approach, working seamlessly with fellow technicians and other tradespeople to deliver superior results. His skills in quoting, design, execution, and problem-solving allow him to customize solutions that meet each client's unique needs while maintaining BTI's high standards of quality.

Sam B. "Ben" - Technician

Sam, known around BTI as "Ben," brings a blend of enthusiasm, reliability, and a deep commitment to learning and improvement to every project he tackles. As a key member of the team, he has quickly established himself as a dedicated and versatile technician who takes pride in his work and constantly strives to raise the bar.
With his OSHA 10 certification, Ben prioritizes safety on every job site, ensuring a secure and compliant work environment for coworkers and customers. He is currently pursuing his NEBB certification, and he continues to push forward in advancing his technical expertise, aiming to deliver best-in-class solutions in the field.
Ben holds a Sheet Metal Apprentice Card and is actively taking advanced courses to sharpen his technical abilities and stay current with evolving industry standards. His focus on continuous education keeps him ahead of the curve and prepared to implement innovative solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.
